Can someone clear something up for me as I get so many conflicting responses about when to give epie  to a patient and how many times. Some say give it every 30secs, some say no don't give epie that many times.
I would like to know when I should give  epie  and how many times

Epinephrine

Epinephrine has two effects in our ACE settings.
1. Increases blood pressure
2. Increases chance of patient waking up

Timing-wise,  it takes 10 seconds to become fully effective.  It degrades linearly to having zero effect past 120 seconds.

More than 10 active Epinephrine will kill the patient.

Cardiac Arrest

A patient with no heart rate (and alive) is in a state of cardiac arrest.

The only way to get a patient out of this state is through CPR.

The only factor that affects the success rate of CPR is the patient's blood volume (epis have not effect here)

Unconsciousness

Once a patient's heart is restarted they enter a state of unconsciousness.

A patient becomes conscious by waking up.  This is a random chance.

Epinephrine increases the chance of the patient waking up.

Now to answer your question.

Assuming a patient is unconscious, then you want to get them back in the fight ASAP.

After 30 seconds an epi is 75% effective
After 60 seconds an epi is 50% effective
After 90 seconds an epi is 25% effective

If the patient has multiple epis then their effects stack, but never above 100%.

Putting in an epi every 60 seconds will ensure that the total effect is always 75% or better

So depending on your medical resources, you can see that giving epis at least every 30-60 seconds is a good balance between waking them up and expending your limited resources.

UPDATED - with stacking epis
