Arma 3 DLC Roadmap 2016/17

https://arma3.com/news/arma-3-roadmap-2016-17

Jets, Tanks, an old map, some other stuff and something secret.

Looks like we'll probably still be playing Arma 3 into early 2018. Not bad for a £20 pre-order in early 2013.

I doubt we will see much ArmA 4 in 2018. The announced they have been starting working on a new engine which is called Enfusion. If it is "really" a new engine I don't really expect a release of ArmA 4 before 2020. I guess they would do some early access again in 2019 maybe but you never know.

radar / sensor improvements as its stand-out feature. By adding more depth to threat detection and tracking

This sounds like it could be a good addition

So 3CB will be having their OUR own "Army 2020" then? lol

I really like the amount of support and improvement Arma 3 gets/has had - it's basically a different game to the one I paid £20 for nearly 4 years ago.

I like the idea of the tanks DLC, would love to see this aspect of the game get bulked up.

Always considered ArmA's DLC's so/so. Nothing spectacular but nothing outrageous. Excluding that stupid Carts DLC, ArmA 3's has been pretty decent. Helicopters was nothing fantastic, neither was Marksman. Apex is alright, but it's not worth £20 for a new map you could've downloaded from ArmAholic and a few new weapons and vehicles.

Then again, ArmA 3 imo isn't really that good of a game without mods. This game is heavily reliant on the community and their own additions.

That one lad from Essex.

Why the hell are people upset about carts?

It was a "joke" and the money that they made went to a good cause (czech red cross).

Bohemia cant do anything right I guess.

If they make content a certain group of the community would like to see, they get blamed for copying existing content which mod teams already made.
If they make actual "new" content that is based on their own vanilla factions, people blame them for doing sci-fi stuff and not what they want.

The Marksman DLC actually brought in:

• Marksman showcase mission
• Firing Drill mission
• 7 Marksman Rifles
• 2 Scopes
• 3 Guilie Suits
• Remote Designators

That is the stuff that is more or less exclusive for owners of the DLC. However the marksman DLC also included new stuff for everyone like:

• Weapon resting
• Weapon deployment (aka bipods)
• Update to the sound engine
• Updates to the recoil system
• Update to how AI reacts to being under fire etc.
• New Editor items
• Virtual Garage
• New vests and face camo options
• End Game game mode

Considering all this I think the price is and was fair (12€ on release and 9€ now). You should always remember that inside ArmA 3, Mislim is just another of several niches and not all the content they include has to be for you.

Im fine with the "modern" stuff. The only thing thing that weirds me out about this is CSAT. Also most of the stuff is actually based on prototypes or weapons and equipment that already exist in one form or another. I can also completely understand that the people at BI did not want to create the same kind of scenario (present day) for the third time.
