Jets DLC Info


BI just released a bit of info about the upcoming jets DLC, info about electronic warfare changes, and the sensor overhaul.

Basically, better radar is coming yayayayay

EDIT: Also found a post about improved hitpoints on jets, aka you can lose gear, control authority, HUD, etc... :D  As the dev says: "You fly or die. We herd you like hitpoints, so we put more hitpoints in your airplane so you can die while you fly"

Looks like these improvements are up on dev branch if anyone wants to try these changes out and give feedback.

Is it obvious I'm slightly looking forward to this?

All very interesting, I just worry that the two new Custom UI windows are too overloaded - what about when as a transport pilot I want GPS, RWR, and passenger manifest? And not having at least cardinal directions on the radar display just seems like a nuisance :(

Yeah, looks like they currently have it set up to cycle through the available windows

Overall though I do like the look of this.

Radar has many different ranges depending on the type of scan. If you want a higher resolution, that leaves less time for the signal to bounce back before the sensor has moved and sent out another pulse.
In combat the higher resolution scans will have a much shorter range for this reason. 

I doubt BI will have gone too in depth but it holds water for game purposes.
