HMS Marulken/Wolfpack

Looks like a really challenging and team-oriented based submarine game. Needs lots of good and fast communications as well. Seems to be a blast if a team of 4 tried it, thoughts? Felt the sudden urge to put this up after watching "Das Boot".

only way to go with em, utterly epic games.

I remember looking at getting some of those mods, there's a whole site called subsim IIRC dedicated to submarine games and modding etc

I've always played it vanilla, aside from the odd sound mod or two I put into SH4.
Actually Subsim bought HMS Marulken, that's why the HMS Marulken guys stopped the kickstarter, and are now making it into "Wolfpack", a more realistic German U-Boat game. HMS Marulken was supposed to be an alternate history semi-realism sub game with Sweden.

Anyone ever played "Dangerous Waters?" Still the best tactical simulation I've ever tried. Subs. perry class +ASW with P3's and Seahawks

Not for a little while, but yes, great immersion. Needs to be modded (LwAmi is best IMO) though. Don't recall if the multiplayer stuff was ever finished? There was a new standalone version that either had a new engine or was the old engine but new doctrines etc.

Actually scrub that, it wasn't so ambitious: ACTUV Tactics

Ever since HMS Marulken was said to be made into "Wolfpack" the most realistic U-Boat game ever devised, we have seen and heard very little from the devs except for a bit on forums. Here is the latest video of Wolfpack. I think it is fair to say not a game anymore, but a sim :)

Best part is the song they are playing is a funny twist on one of my favorite musician's songs: Glenn Miller's Elmer's Tune. I think they might have made the song and lyrics themselves :)

Tell me about it. I thought Sing Sing Sing was Benny Goodman's, never heard of Louis Prima! A lot of songs are like that. I think Lili Marlene was recorded by tens of artists at the very least, in many different languages as well, you won't see that today! ironic though "German Swing 1937-1944" Guess that's when the Gestapo caught them :)
