Dark Souls 3

Anyone played/playing this?

Picked this up around Christmas and wouldn't mind giving co-op a tinker.

It's a decent game. Probably have around 60 or more hours into it. PvP isn't as good as the previous games, but the PvE is good.

Souls games are a special category of games. Like Marmite\Vegemite, you either absolutely love it or despise it.

I never played the first two, so I had no idea what I was getting into. Admittedly I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying it. I initially thought it would be a standard arcade hack and slash (which tend to get tedious after a few hours). So I was pleasantly surprised to see how unforgiving it was from the very get-go. Plus the atmosphere reminds me of Diablo 1 which helped hook me in :).

If you are looking for some more arcade like hack and slash that goes more in the direction of the old Zelda games, you might want to take a look at hyper light drifter. It is somewhat a mix between Zelda and the Demons/Dark Souls games, with some decent combat and movement mechanics.

I also need to start to attempt to "git gud" again in Dark Souls 3.

I picked up the first one without any idea how to play. Spent 5 hours learning to fight 2 skeletons because i was try to go the wrong way XD
Everything was simple after that learning curve wall

Probably goes the same for Dark Souls vs other RPGs.

I have DS 3 and I like it. It's like eating chili, painful but extremely rich experience.

(Won't touch multiplayer until I have made 100% solo run)

The most annoyng thing about ARMA franchise isin't the bugs; The the worst thing is: You don't have better option.

Think I'm around 80% in with little coop (just the odd invader). Though recently the frequency of invading players has increased - to the point where I'm having to kill myself after being embered to avoid being trolled in areas I'm in the midst of exploring. Guessing the higher the level you get probably doesn't help?  I'm thinking I'll do the bulk of NG+ in coop if I can (screwed up a few major quest-lines fumbling through on my own).

Believe me, mate. It's considered a blessing, when you're an invader, and there isn't a gank team waiting for you. They take their chances and play with their food.

Need to make sure if they're NPC Invaders or actual players, too. Irithyll and Anor Londo are invader hotspots, as that's where the PvP duel area is located, and the covenant which invades people in that area automatically. Grand Archives is also a big invader area, but everything settles down after that.

Could get a 3CB Dark Souls 3 COOP session going on, if anyone wants a go.

I've played through all 3 souls games - 2 is the weakest, but still a great game. Highly recommend going through all of them if you're enjoying 3!
I love games that a brutally difficult, so naturally went straight for Dark Souls as soon as it came out.

Player invaders are always a challenge, especially when, as I had a few times, you get two or more people invade you at once - I had a great moment once where the second invader actually stopped and just watched as I fought the first one!
So satisfying to see them both off too, haha
