Restricted Arsenal - BAF Equipment Only

In this week’s public mission rotation, Hearts & Minds will be kept on to test the new arsenal. Temporarily, the arsenal will be restricted to BAF only equipment.

During this period, it would be appreciated to provide any feedback in regards to the arsenal changes.

This has been done because of discussions at 3CB Town Hall meetings. In these discussions, it was highlighted that use of non-3CB equipment created a range of problems. The biggest being logistically, as after each patrol out of base, it would require a return to base to rearm for the non-3CB equipment. This in turn would create gameplay that has less of a focus on combat, that being the main enjoyment for most players.

The downside to this is that players cannot experience a larger range of weapons, however, the restricted arsenal has been put in place in the hope that players will have more time in the field. This will also make it easier on command elements to organise sections, resulting in better gameplay. From the limited feedback collected already, people seem to prefer to be out in the field rather than stuck in base.

i think there should be a compatibility patch for rhs guns. like they can use the tracers etc.
is baf weaponary stanag compatible? wikipedia says yes.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STANAG_ma ... _magazines
SA80 is listed there.

This is something that was discussed, and I'm sure @Lifetap can elaborate.

In answer to your question, magazines such as PMAG or STANAG can both be used in US/UK weapons. However, from what was discussed previously, the amount of work required to do that would be too large, and also would require higher maintenance in the future. However, it was not ruled out as an option. This is certainly something that could be used in the future, given the team have enough time, but, the current solution in place is an easier solution.

@Hight for RHS to use our ammo, or for us to use theirs, would require creating inter-mod dependencies, plus a large amount of maintenance work.

I'm pretty sure neither our mod team nor RHS would particularly welcome this.

Good to see the change hopefully people will adapt to the available gear, glad you didn't get rid of too many of the scopes would have missed some, Hopefully this will help with planning and re supplying public ops and freestyle missions, should give ppl a better idea of 3CB and make the public a more accurate place to recruit from

on the brigade13 server it works perfectly. they got a cratefiller with a cratespawner to put custom gear into it. but i guess its work, too.

btw. 3cb never uses rhs gear/stuff?

Hight, RHS have several different versions of the 'STANAG' mag you mention. Each one has different ballistic characteristics, i.e. penetration, speed, mass etc... and is made to suit either a range of weapons, (i.e AR-15's) or individual weapons. If we were to make all of them compatible with our weapons, it would affect how our weapons and sights / scopes are zeroed for ranges as the bullet characteristics being fired would be different depending upon which magazine was being used. If both mod teams created a standard, let's say agreed upon 'NATO' STANAG magazine, something could be perhaps worked out. However, neither ourselves or RHS seem particularly interested in doing so, especially when there is a great deal of other work still needing to be done.
