if there would be a cratefiller resupply would not be that difficult to resupply. but it takes afford to implement it into the missions.
for e.g. on the brigade13 server there are special logistic slots for resupply of fly squads into the AO. but also they can spawn a vehicle and can fit everything into it.

for me the positiv thing is about the camo pattern. negativ thing is about the weapons. ppl think twice before they download 43gb of mods to see half of the gear isnt usable. also i think for a public server the modpack is a bit too big.

it makes sense to restricted weapons for each role, but i dont think its nessessary, never seen a medic with a javelin/lmg etc.

edit//

like i posted some post ago that there is a cratefiller script, it would make more sense to put it into the missions as an arsenal at the FOB.

or a other good idea would be to got a huron container as an arsenal that get airlifted to the fobs by pilots. a mobile arsenal. so they would got more work to do.

You have mentioned this so many times on different forum threads and you've been told so many times that due to the work it would require to implement and maintain such a thing it won't be added. Constantly repeating yourself about this "Cratefiller" isn't going to make the team add it, it's just going to start annoying people.

Hight has already passed on the cratefiller scripts to the public mission team. It is being reviewed. If deemed workable and something worth adding / spending the time to add, it might be added. However, if the script is a mess, or it isn't deemed suitable / worth the time adding to all of the missions, it won't be. If anyone would like to volunteer to join the Public mission team and help shoulder some of the load making these changes, feel free.

Just wanted to offer a potential option that lets us address the issue with a potential "silent majority" or the risk of decreasing attendance.

What about if we implement it for the next couple of public events? Let people know at the start that we're trying out this new format to improve resupply, recognition, and total time in the field. You can then ask at the end to find out people's views on how it went and whether it was positive. That should hopefully give us a good handle on the impact and general reception.

If by public events you mean the "open events" that we do once per month These more or less work like a midweek op. I cant recall one in which we did no use a zeus template and so you only had 3CB gear anyway.

Sorry mefirst but I believe you're wrong. Public actions each week should use the normal rotation mission afaik. Only the public ops last Friday in the month will be a bespoke mission similar to our normal op structure.

Nick, it's a good idea. I'm concerned about the silent msjority too but do we have the ability to monitor player numbers? With rotating missions anyway, I imagine fluctuations are inevitable as people have their favourites

Really? The weekly events I've been to have just been structured public missions, it's only been the big monthly operations which had custom templates.

Note the difference please.

Public Actions: Take place on Saturdays and are generally "get together" play sessions on the public server on the map that is on rotation.
Open Events: Take place on the last Friday of a month and are mid-week op style missions that are open to the public.

I am pretty sure I know this because this was created in a joint effort of the media team and the recruitment team a about a year ago. We officially changed the name for this to 3CB Open Event since it caused a lot of confusion in combination with the term Public Action. As seen here, it is pretty easy to make the mistake mentioned. This is why I hope that the term will be used when we talk about this to prevent these mistakes.

As mentioned, the open events run on Zeus templates and generally speaking they always only include roles, equipment and vehicles that the mission designers wants in the mission itself. This is not the case for Public Actions which are done the way Reddog described them.

Monitoring player numbers could be a bit tricky since they could also be misleading. It is possible that the player numbers do not change by much, but that the origin of the players on the server could change. So this could mean that we maybe get more 3CB members playing on the server but we loose public players who are not affiliated with 3CB. The problem that I see with that is that I think that the longer a player is part of 3CB, the less likely he is to play on the public server outside of public actions or open events.I think that this is a somewhat natural development since the player has 3-4 opportunities during the week to play ArmA 3 in a way that made him become a member of 3CB and stay inside the unit. So he can get his his ArmA 3 fix there and it is less likely that he will play on the server.

The worst case scenario to me is that we have a public server that is only populated by our members.

Mefirst I think some confusion was caused as before you edited your post you said the open events happen every week.

To clarify my original point from the misunderstanding that you've run with: I was referring to Public Actions, as as you pointed out it wouldn't have made sense with the restricted nature of the Open Events.

To further clarify: when I suggested that we ask the players at the end for their view, I meant that we could ask the players at the end for their views.

Ok for the next public action we could try to run the restricted arsenal and ask people for feedback in the end.

Maybe make a poll or something like that people could give a fast vote. And of course just by asking in the end of the op.

We could try it in more then one public action to get a better understanding of what people think. Also we should run ones without the restricted arsenal to see what people like more.
