At a guess, I'd suggest that is the result of the ACE3 update. They integrated Shacktac's NVG's in their latest release. While they are much more realistic, they are vastly more restrictive due to a more accurate portrayal of how they really work in low light / no light conditions. Field of view also depends on the type of NVG worn (i.e. monocular, binocular, or the larger four lens style).

Some general information about the Shacktac Night Vision.

I f you also check the ACE3 Settings you can massively turn the blur and the grain down in the options. Guess we just have to find a setting that we like and then make it work via server settings.

I'll drop it down to something reasonable, whilst still maintaining a little of Dyslexi's "realism".  Will make the change, late tonight

If he’s reduced the POV to a stupid little Circle you can forget me joining any night ops totally unrealistic given it’s not 2cm in front of you eyes.

The FoV seems reasonable, and goes to full screen when you zoom in

What is the "it" that's not 2cm in front of your eyes? Because to my understanding of the phosphor and tube, that's pretty much what it is?

This is how it looks in the editor with our NVGS.

Note that this is static image. It looks somewhat better in the game but I think it will be very exhausting to use the normal settings for +1 hour.

When you turn down the first two sliders to like 0.2 it looks a lot better.

Who said that? *stumbles in the dark*

From the looks of MeFirst's images, they haven't introduced his FOV system. That looks like the standard BIS NVG FOV. His has a much smaller FOV on a single lens, and they overlap and merge into meshed circles when there are two or more.
