OP Spring Step II Feedback thread


Please use this thread to discuss Spring Step II mission problems or feedback.

Please do not discuss general public op or playstyle issues here.


Known Issues
- Pilot Camo is wrong - fixed v2
- "stealth error popup"
- no artillery for the militia faction (appreciate that most players won't see this as an issue :))- fixed v2
- low contact amount
- rewards for missions that are failed are being awarded anyway. - addressed in v4
- No base lighting at night - fixed v3
- WMIK incorrec

Intended developments
- Add SAMs - added v4
- Increase information to range of tasks that may be encountered on splash screen and briefing
- Narrative tasks interwoven with the "OSOD" tasks
- "rewards" of extra kit for task completion - implemented v2

Very good mission, no problems at all with what I saw tonight. Only thing is very little contact for my section (used less than 2 mags for the whole public action), that may have just been bad luck on our part though, will have to play the mission more to be sure

For 1-3 during the public action today, the amount of contact was fine for me. Assaulting one of the emplacements was very easy, only about a fire team defending it. The towns themselves were harder.

Definitely an awesome mission.

Edit: We didn't run into any enemy vehicles.

Not sure about level of contact (was pilot), but I was surprised at the lack of troop mobility; we saw on civvie covered truck, two troop trucks, and one BMP and that was it. The troop trucks didn't do much apart from noodle about a coupla klicks from friendlies and not drop anyone off.

Came on this morning as a chopper pilot.  Started with reasonable frames at 40 to 50. but on trying to land anywhere on the map - random locations - fps dropped substantially to 3-5 fps. This I believe was caused by AI spawning as soon after the frame drop was getting shot, including some tracer.  The frames recovered after increasing speed and getting away though took a while to settle.  I did a bit of experimenting and noticed that the frames seemed to drop at any height including over 100 feet as soon as speed went below 50 or 60.  Flying at low altitude at speed, there was no adverse effect.

Noticed that the repair function did not work intermittently but also after logging off and back on re a damaged wildcat - it miraculously repaired after I logged back in again.

Re the FPS drop  It may well be my my machine as I had big issues losing frames down to one or zero during OP Moshtarak every time there was AI contact and I also went on the pubic tonight on O Herrick XXV and had the same issues Flying with 40 to 50 fps and as soon as AI spawn on slowing for landing random spots again massive fps drop to 3 fps again

Am running performance profile and sound sources at 32.

Thanks for the reports gents, please keep them coming as and when the mission gets onto the rotation.


Version 2 has been uploaded

Removed the destroy HQ missions for now
Fixed the non-respawning Chinook
Added in the missing artillery
Changed the task options
Added in rewards for completing the "big" tasks - I suggest that you clear towards those points FIRST before trying to accomplish them...

Milan WMIK 06 spawns with 40mm ammo rather than Milan ammo; unsure if this is a mod or mission issue.

Probably changed the class of the vehicle rather than added a new vehicle. Thanks for reporting Nick. Will get fixed for v4.
