I've always just used whatever kit I get when I spawn in, augmented with medical and ammo stuff from the vehicle supplies when I need it. I'm playing for the milsim experience not for a dressing up simulator, the number of people I see cycling through all the various bits of uniform etc is a crying shame imo especially when they then waddle out wearing some PMC style ensemble carrying the biggest weapon they can find of course sporting a suppressor to further add to the "operator" image...

I'm all for restricting the armoury down for a number of reasons.

In fact I won't take part in any dressing up - for example the other week "everyone" went US, I was the seconded brit ;)

well good discussion ppl can see what others feel and see the problems with them, am away for the weekend and when i get back ill change my load-out  and get rid of them reckon i will still be as awesome hehe. would like some suggestions on a decent marksman rifle instead of the green one dont wanna annoy Sean really he is SL a lot and put me on spud peeling duty, nice range nice scope and full auto is what i had on the green one an equivalent would be most lovely. If the devs could knock one up for me over weekend i'll be back monday lol. have a good arma weekend all.

You have a limited choice in the marksman role in a section.   Weapons: L129 or L86. Scopes  TA648 or MaxiKite.

By green I assume you mean the L115, which is a specialist weapon that we do not deploy to sections.

L129a1 is a pretty solid platform for a marksman, 7.62mm, Semi Auto, Paired with a TA648, it can be quite a terror to the enemy up to about 1km away.

As lifetap suggest, at night you might want to grab a Maxi-Kite too, this is a magnified image intensifying scope for 7.62mm platforms.

As lifetap said the L129 and the L86 lsw which are in the default loadouts for the marksman and sharpshooter roles. The L86 is 5.56 and the L129 is 7.62.

If you want to be a Stage 3 Marksman/Sharp then it's a L1A1 SLR with a SUIT without any range finding equipment.
