bullet casings staying around


I've seen a few mods recently that make it so that bullet casings stay on the ground for longer, this obviously has the benefit of making firing positions look more realistic. however I am not sure on the impact on frames when we have all of us on the server + possibly ai spawning casings or conflicts with other mods.

As much as I like this mod, and use it regularly in SP, I don't think it would be very well suited for MP, as far as FPS is concerned.
However, I do think that maybe we should give it a test run, because if it does not impact FPS, then it might very well be a good addition to the Repo

It might actually be useful from a mission design perspective, especially on a PO.  It would enable us to locate Taliban firing points

Regarding FPS:

Given these settings can be tweaked, I think any FPS issues caused by having an increased number of polys in the scene could be limited. Additionally, they would only really be on display when you look at the ground, where there is little else to render. 

Agree that it would be great in a patrol OP setting, where conveniently we also have fewer players and generally higher frames. You can also place down the casings manually in Eden, which means we could generate firing points without necessarily activating the casings spawned by every player.

Looks definitely interesting, if for nothing else, as cosmetic detail on a map it would surely add to the vibe of an op.

Unfortunately, its a essentially a SP mod.  All settings are global, so any player could alter the settings for all others across the mission.  

We'll investigate some of the ideas and see if its possible to get something working that is MP compatible.
