The Chally should well survive pretty much anything, but the fact is that in all of these incidents the tank stopped being able/willing to fight.
In the case of IED's, they injured the crew and did serious "needs to go home and get repaired" sort of damage. In the case of RPG hits  - even if you can shrug them off, the damage to the optics means you're essentially done fighting for the day.
There's also the lack of track-throwing in game...

Generally, I feel like the Challenger in game is "OP" not so much because its armor is unrealistically good, but because it lacks virtually all of the real-life disadvantages, especially ones related to getting shot -- loosing optics, the crew getting hurt, tracks being thrown, needing expensive recovery operations, etc....
Getting hurt in arma3 is simply too cheap to fix -- just hop out, bandage and be done with it. Tracks can't throw, so you don't even have to be careful with crossing ditches/etc.... Optics never fail unless the main turret fails....(which might actually not happen at all, if that bug report is accurate)

You should pass this information on to Burnes on the BIS forum. While we can pull apart the mod and unbin the config.bin to a config.cpp, we have no access to the unbinarized model .p3d files as he has not released them, meaning we cannot open and alter them. In addition, we would first need permission from the creator anyway to actually make any changes.

I thought the chally 2 was RAM compatible and that he had followed this guide when making his vehicles.

I believe it IS RAM based.

However RAM is not a requirement - you just get tougher vehicles without it.

RHS have used the HP values in clever ways. Their "bubbles start on the outside of the vehicle to represent ERA - one that is penetrated the projectile or Secondary charge then operated on the Main armour and internal HPs - very interesting.

THAT is in fact how RAM works in many ways so on the Chally I imagine the Penetration protection of the tank is very high....

Out of pure curiosity why have we gone for the LCAC over the LCU MK10?
