Hello i'm new over here from 3PARA-GU, I've noticed the L7A1 GPMG has considerably less penetration than the 7.62 variant of the minimi, is this intentional or a bug or what i'm not sure at all and was wondering if this was gonna get changed anytime soon ?

Both weapons use identical ammo, with the only difference being the muzzle velocities of the weapons.  

In-game the L110-7.62 has a muzzle velocity of 925 m/s whilst the L7A2 has a 840 m/s.

I suspect the difference you're seeing is down to how the game engine models the ballistics / penetration based on these values

Since its likely game engine related, there are no plans to change it.  Otherwise we'd be into adjusting the muzzle velocities of all weapons in order to get "correct" penetration results.  This then has a knock on effect on other aspects of the ballistics.

925m/s is the MV of the standard L110,
the shorter (para) version fires at 866m/s

I cant find any reference to the MV of the 7.62 'Maximi' nor its Mk.48 sister but I found a reference of an FN Police Rifle using the same cartridge and barrel length (502mm) putting the MV at 850m/s which sounds about right.

Hi all,

Had a slight issue with the L16 smoke rounds over the weekend, whereby the only person who could see the smoke effect was the mortar gunner. There were 5/6 other players with eyes on the target, all of whom heard the impact but nobody else saw the smoke.

Mods running are listed below. The only one i can see having any bearing is @CHVD which is a client-side view distance controller. The range was nothing extreme, around 400m so I don;t think view distance was an issue.

I've noticed recently that when using the GPMG and you reload if you do an animation while reloading (like resting or unresting your weapon) that the ammo you're loading into the wepaon disappears, I thought this was just on my end so didn't mention it on here but last night on the public action the same thing happened to Nick Seafort, I don't think I ever tried it with the 100rnd belts but it definitely happened with the 200rnd tracer belts. Is this a known issue?

Could you see if you can get the same effect with either our L110 or RHSs M240s or M249s?

Tried in the virtual arsenal with the public modset, the GPMG and the M240 both do it but neither the L110 or the M249 do it
