The issue that JSRS had in the past that it is altering the entire soundscape and it usually creates a lot of bad situationd between players that use it and dont use it. If you use it you can hear all sort of engines much earlier than people who dont use it and that is bad for balance and immersion.

Has there been any experimenting with making the mod required so everyone has it and there are no discrepancies between people not using it and people that are? Since the mod has been updated to no longer include scripting and is 100% supported in multiplayer, might be worth trying. Up to you guys.

The reason why dynasounds is used is because it can be optional. Not everyone wants to use a sound mod. So you can't enforce it on people.

Enforcing it is the last thing I would say anyway, having it as an optional mod is just fine. If the mod creates too much of a difference for people not using it and for the ones that are then I can understand. Still might be worth a try though.

What we've not tried before is letting either OR sound mod be an option.... I'm not sure you can code Arma sync to only allow one option ?

JSRS always had a more Hollywood ooomph to it, so I understand why people would want to try it. Personally I prefer Laxmann's sound fidelity... a little less ear busting. 

If one of the AS experts can chip in - it's possible we could set it as an option ? Not sure

It's definitely a subjective matter on which one people prefer. Would absolutely love if it could be an option though. Got my fingers crossed.

what i assume/saw is that the "optional" tag for the mods only applys to the download process (repository tab), as soon you got the mod downloaded it will be checked on the modsets (addons tab).
so the user have to uncheck the optional mods they dont want to use manually, and thats not a good behavior in my eyes :(

Dynasound is always ticked for me and I have to untick it!
Perhaps we should swap PC's Benzy.

But that's not how it works? when you download Dynasound as an example it is an optional mod, every time you launch your repo you have to tick it if you want to use it. Mines is by default always unselected. 

mines always checked in the modsets (addons tab), strange
