Request Winter Whiskey Uniforms

Hi yall,

Since we have plenty of winter operations running and everyone looking so prety in the winter clotching.
I thought I would request a winter version of a helicopter pilot overall.

No idea on difficulty of request or realism factor but would look quite a bit better then sticking out like a sore thumb in that green.

Thanks!

By plenty you mean two. :)

Realism and logic wise, it does not make real sense to give pilots those versions. Pilots are expected to operate their vehicle from the inside. They have no benefit from a camo pattern, when sitting inside a vehicle and so pretty much every military in the world will most likely save the money and will not create a second variant for the flight suit.

Mefirst has it right, but this raises another issue... surely this means we should camo the inside of our helicopters to stop the pilots from being seen!

Guipo, you would need to provide reference photographs of real life RAF, RN or Army pilots wearing a winter camo flight suit (if such a thing exists) for it to be considered by the mod team.
Our focus is on providing realism in the British kit.

RAF, AAC and RN FAA pilots have never been issued white coloured flight suits because there's literally no need for them to have it.

Plus, having a bit of green in white looks nice. Primarily the reason why my arctic kit has MTP or DPM trousers.

Slightly off topic here, but do the current BAF forces actually have "real" arctic uniforms? So far I only found info and images with them wearing coatings over MTP.

No, as those photos show we wear MTP (it used to be windproof jacket and trousers but we've recently moved to Carinthia Gore-Tex outer shells) with thin cotton cam-white outers over the top. Depending on the terrain it might just be cam white trousers with an MTP jacket.

The key thing in snow is that it's very rarely ALL white... when you hunt it's recommended to break up and contrast light and dark... that's more natural looking for the Animal's (or baddie solders!) eyes

I guess if you're hunting Polar bears on the Cap it may be different.. i.e. with no undergrowth to contrast with ?

Totally agree Dwayne!

As we are only allowed to work on the "handlebar" mod in Movember and didn't get it finished before it was erased, do what I do... get some crayons and draw on the screen in the appropriate place.

Tally ho and a spiffing new year!
