The dual headphones are better as you can set multiple radio channels in left and right ear. Audio is also directional in arma so if someone is sneaking up on your right and you only ha e a left ear you may die more...

Yeah stereo headphones are a bit of a must for effective comms, and if you're not also using speakers for in-game sounds, then you'll cripple your situational awareness without them.

Better get one with good noise cancellation then so there isn't feedback when you speak! :D

Yeah have to agree with others here. Other games are really good on surround sound. I have a 7.1 system and it is good, but I don't use it playing ARMA. You need to hear every shot and when you have headphones on you can tell which direction it came from relatively easy. Plus if TeamSpeak is running you need the microphone and speaker separation otherwise you will be fighting acoustic feedback all night.
I got myself a blue yeti as a desktop microphone for you tube video recording and it works well but I could not have my speakers too loud.

Headset all the way for ARMA and taskforce combined.

You soon get used to using a headset.

I feel naked without one now and would never go back to using speakers

since its a combi connector (mic & headphones in one jack) youll need a comptabile soundcard (unusal) or an adapter like this: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-MUYHSFM ... B0058DOWH6

if your pc has bluetooth you can also try to connect your phone via bluettoth, plugin your headset in the phone and set your teamspeak to use the smartphone audio devices for in & output... just an idea.. not sure if its practical for you :)
