Sorry for another question, I'm such a noob on this...

How do you carry around a 4.5" or 5" smartphone?
Do they fit comfortably/safely in jeans front pockets? Do you always take them out and put them on a table when sitting down?

Thanks for all your advice chaps.
I've gone for a Moto G 2014.

Camera was never my top priority - was 5th on original list...
I decided that none of the camera's on phones within my budget will be sufficient to replace my dedicated camera, so that dropped the importance even further down the list.

Regarding the Cubot, it does have good specs on paper, and your recommendation is great. However, there is almost no user feedback or other reviews on the internet and I do like to see what the consensus opinion is on a product over many sample views. The unknown name or reputation of the brand was a concern.

I also couldn't convince myself that I wanted a refurbished or 2nd hand phone. Didn't want the hassle or worry.

The Moto G wins just about every "best budget smartphone" recommendation and customer reviews are pretty good.

As a follow-up to this, I now am the proud owner of a Moto G (2014).
Absolutely love it!

Please don't laugh (well ok, a little is alright), but do I need:
- firewall?
- anti-virus?

Is there a free App which will let me watch my .mts movie files (AVCHD) without having to convert them to .mpg first?

How do you close an App? there's no X in the top right corner! (I know about the open all apps button and then swiping them off the screen, but that seems like using task manager to clean up)

Thanks Mikk.

I'm on Android 4.4.4.
Apparently the latest and greatest version is supposed to be installed automatically soon, but it hasn't reached the UK yet.

Are you saying the Play Store App's are bad? I installed a flashlight App (needed access to camera which sounded ok) from there.

I don't really know anything about App's.
What should I avoid?
What should I definitely get?

You will always get the occasional App no matter what phone/app store so you just need to watch what you download. The app you need the most is Tapatalk so you can browse 3CB on the go, since 3CB is life and all.

I can read the forums pretty easily on the phone using Chrome. What does Tapatalk do extra?

It displays the forums in a mobile-friendly format. Like this:

Newest posts are at the top (which is really handy for quickly catching up on stuff while you're out and about).

But it's up to you whether you want to use it or not ;)

You should also be able to update your Android manually with this https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/87731, if You'd like.

I just tried it.

What's the actual product code of the phone you have?
Should be in the form of XT10** with asterisks being two numbers.

Well I can't find that info on the phone, but it's dual sim, so I think it must be XT1068.
