I have the i7 4790k also - can recommend it. Intel > AMD (many games/programs are optimised for Intel and perform better than with AMD hardware, especially Arma 3).

Btw an i7 is 4 cores, but with hyper-threading it equates to 8 cores (only for programs that take advantage of HT, of course).

For gaming, however, most people go for the i5 range (4 cores, no hyper-threading) as HT is not really utilized by any games.
