In the market for a new mouse.

My Logitech G5 scroll wheel is on the blink and works only intermittently, so time for a new mouse.

Any recommendations?

Razer Deathadder. Had one of the originals for about 6 years, it finally died and I replaced it with the new Chroma version. Size is perfect for my handy, really comfortable profile, nice weight and smoothness to its movement. Highly recommend!

I'm using a Logitech G502 proteus core. Had it for close to 4 years now and no issues. Has 9 or 10(I think?) programmable buttons that you set up with the software you can get from them online. Also like that there's a panel on the bottom that allows you to add little weights that come with it to make it lighter or heavier to preference.

At the moment, I would honestly suggest getting your hands again on G5, unless you dislike some aspects of the model itself. I have been running my G5 for about 4 years now and so far, it shows no signs of degeneration.

If my current mouse would break down, I would try to get the same mouse again. The price has dropped and I don't see any major improvements for gaming mouses in the last couple of years.

Never change a running system. :)

When I was getting a new mouse I did some research into it and everyone's tastes are obviously different but everyone's hand position is as well. It's definitely something to consider if your a claw hand that barely touches the mouse apart from fingers or if your more flat with your palm on the mouse.

I have a madcatz razor that has a little shelf for my thumb to rest on as I move around as I am a palm flat kind of gamer. It means I'm not having to hold my thumb up for long periods it gets a rest.

i used the razer deathadder (twice) and madcatz r.a.t.7 in the past, they were nice but not very solid and broke after like 1 year (left mouse button and mousewheel started to fail on both of these).
now iam using the roccat kone for like 2.5 years now and dont have any problems so far.

so my opinion, if you're already in the "gaming" mouse segment, go for a roccat kone model with laser sensors.
you can customize the weight and there some optional attachments.

Best recomendation go to a local store that has a few on display, check what size/form feels the best and decide from there onwards.

Mouse accuracy and features have developed so stupidly quick the last 10 years.
There barely is no difference anymore between a 10$ mouse vs a 150$ (performance wise).

Roccat Nyth for me, comfy to use, adjustable for comfort, loads of buttons that can be added/removed, very smooth,  like it anyway
