Just a reminder that as of 31MAR the clocks for the UK have gone forward by 1 hour (BST - British Summer Time). However, all events (e.g. operations) will continue to be based on the GMT timezone (aka Zulu) as this is constant 365 days of the year. Please keep this in mind when attending interviews, operations, training etc. Use the new 'Time Zone' widget on the forums (right of the page) for reference. Lets hope that we start getting some warmer weather soon HQ

ArmA 3 and 3 Commando Brigade
Posted by: Goodson » Mon Mar 11, 2013 6:02 pm
Forum: News
ArmA 3's Alpha release is a big thing for all ArmA communities with nearly every ArmA fan owning a copy already. So, what does this mean for the 3 Commando Brigade? Although A3 has already shown us many improvements over A2 it is still lacking major content and has also brought many bugs of its own. In its current state it would not be wise for us to switch over to A3 for our official operations. Instead we shall continue to play on good old A2 for the time being, at least until ArmA3 is in a more useful state. Operations will continue to run as normal every Saturday night. HQ Note: The ArmA3 server will continue to run as normal.

Forum: News
Its official, the 3 Commando Brigade ArmA III Alpha server is now live! Currently we're only running the default missions that come with the game, hopefully some of our mission editor guys will knock up a few custom missions for us. The server is still in testing so expect many bugs and glitches (as well as the ones that come with the Alpha of course) See you on the battlefield, HQ

Congratulations to our recruits who passed their basic training last night and are now full fledged marines. Welcome to the 3 Commando Brigade!
You are being slotted into our unit structure now, however this may be subject to change over the next week or so.
Please ensure you check the forums regularly for any updates on upcoming events (i.e. training and operations).
Also, brilliant work from our instructors - you have all done a really good job
Keep up the good work men, J

Server Upgrade - Downtime 5/01/13 - Update
Posted by: Goodson » Sat Jan 05, 2013 10:35 pm
Forum: News
As you may have heard, our server was experiencing some issues last night due to our host. We complained (as this wasn't the first time we've had server issues) and as a result our host has given us a free upgrade to a quad core Intel Xeon server (more powerful than an i7). This should decrease server lag significantly and we have been promised no more downtime (lets hope). The upgrade will be in progress tomorrow morning so we may experience some downtime in the process (around a couple of hours). As always, J Update: I've just been told that the server upgrade will now be performed on Monday morning. Update: The server has now been upgraded and everything seems to be running normally. I apologise for the delay, I had to reinstall the web server and the forum database as our host wasn't able to swap over the hard drive from the old machine. Anyway, its good to be back

New Roles Opening
Posted by: Goodson » Sat Jan 05, 2013 11:52 am
Forum: News
As with our recent popularity and server activity, I feel we should start designating more roles and responsibilities to our members. This will greatly help improve/expand our unit and increase our overall organisation (which I must admit has been lacking recently). These are the roles we are looking to fill up: 1. Mission Developers/Planners (I'm looking at you Janson and Benzy)2. Unit Recruitment 3. Training Officers If you feel you would be suited to any of the above roles, please comment below or speak to me on Teamspeak. More changes and advances to come... J
