Operation Panther's Claw

SITUATION:

19 June 2009 – 20 August 2009

Soon after the Taliban insurgency took root in Afghanistan large tracts of Helmand Province came under Taliban control. Of all of Afghanistan's provinces, Helmand "has been the most difficult" for coalition forces, according to BBC News foreign correspondent Ian Pannell, and holds the largest Taliban presence.
British forces deployed to Helmand in 2006, formally assuming responsibility for security in the province from US forces on 1 May 2006. In Helmand, described as "the centre of the Taliban insurgency", they faced heavy combat and regular attacks by Taliban fighters.

MISSION:

British forces from 3 Commando Brigade and Danish forces from Gardehusarregimentet and Jydske Dragonregiment have been given the mission to secure all major river crossings over the Helmand river. British forces will be moving in from the south and continuing north on foot following the river, engaging any enemy combatants on their way. Danish forces have set up a base of fire on the high ground to the west where they will be supporting with Leopard 2A5s and CV9030s. Danish infantry will also be operating in and clearing the town of Chahar Dara and Kar Shek.  

EXECUTION:

Move from the staging point in the south and continue north to secure as many river crossings you can before night time arrives.

SUPPORT:

x1 Merlin for resupply and re-insert.

FRIENDLY FORCES:

Infantry from Gardehusarregimentet will be operating in the towns of  Chahar Dara and Kar Shek.

Armoured units from Jydske Dragonregiment will be operating from the high grounds to the west and can be called for fire support.

The server will be bikey'd. You will only be able to run the mods downloaded using the Arma3Sync [3CB] Public Modset.
