ROAD TO CRISIS - RTC:

In 2016 anti corruption protests spread out of Minsk, the capital of Belarus into historically centralist rural areas to the West of the country. Mass riots followed as protests encompassed a wider range of issues with the current government. Pressure to control rioting and protests flared tensions within the Belarus Armed Forces who had been employed to assist local law enforcement. Infighting and distrust resulted in a localised coup in the Grodno region to the West of Belarus.

The loyal remains of the Armed Forces of Belarus quickly mobilised to the area and pushed back the separatist forces. They moved North through the Grodno region towards the Lithuanian border.

On the 18th of August 2016, the Belarussian Minister For Foreign Affairs released a statement condemning western assistance of the now eradicated conspirators accusing Lithuania of attempting to destabilise the region. Within hours of the statement being released on state media platforms, Belarussian troops crossed the border into Lithuania and aggressively moved North.

Within 48 hours a front line had developed across the south of Lithuania with miles of land suddenly annexed. A contingent of British troops arrived quickly and immediately began assisting the defense of Lithuania.

SITUATION:

Belarussian forces have encircled allied defenses to the east. Aerial surveillance identified an enemy force massing for an offensive against the allied defenders. Local enemy command has been identified in the AO, last seen at Point Sycamore. Two companies of 45 commando have been deployed from the North to attack enemy positions and disrupt their offensive.

Whiskey Company will attack and destroy enemy support and supplies being held at Objective Pine while Yankee Company will locate and destroy enemy command around Point Sycamore.

MISSION:

Whiskey Company is to advance south to secure Objective Oak and Objective Pine destroying enemy ammunition storage to disrupt an attack to the east.

Republic of Belarus National Guard:

• Trained and lightly equipped reserves using Russian equipment.
• Limited motorised capability.
• Local forces acting in support of regulars. Morale expected to be high following recent territory gains.

• 1 x Bulldog assigned to 4-3 capable of resupply from company logistics with Coy.

• 1x FV510 Warrior for Fire Support.

Reinforcements:

• CTP tent carried by Troop.

• Weapon Control Order: At the discretion of Troop leads.
