SITUATION:

Virolahti region, Syldavia. 8th March 2019

The secluded nation of Syldavia has been divided by civil war. The remaining loyal troops of the small Syldavian Armed Forces (SAF) are retreating to a defensive position south of the Kirovograd river. Large portions of the SAF have been encircled to the east and many equipment stores now belong to the enemy.

Enemy rebel forces which operated as divided factions loyal only to local regions are uniting under the Bordurian Defense Force (BDF) and now threaten to completely overwhelm the government in Szohôd. The BDF is being supplied and trained by Russian forces.

The British and US government, both deeply invested in maintaining peace and stability in the neighbouring nation of Saboulistan now believe the conflict in Syldavia threatens the wider region and have agreed to deploy troops to assist the government based in Szohôd. A large coalition force has deployed to Kûrvi-Tasch to assist SAF forces there and relieve pressure in the west. A smaller force has arrived in the Ruha region.

In response to the western aggression, the BDF has begun removing any signs of loyalty to the crumbling government in their territory. Killings of civilians and the targeting of family members of SAF troops are being documented across the country.

In light of this aggression, coalition forces have now initiated an offensive, seeing large gains in the west. With large rivers crisscrossing the Virolahti region, the bridges crossing these must be seized before a full attack is to commence. With this, the D Coy, 2 PARA has been ordered to push and secure the large town of Kirkonkyla. Expecting a reinforcement from the Bordurian Defense Force after the town has been captured, D Coy has also been tasked with holding this town as to allow the drop of other forces to reinforce.
