SITUATION:
Farabad Green Zone, Al-Jatar. 26th July 2024For years, the provisional government of Al-Jatarhas struggled to assert its authority and establish lasting stability. The region is home to various ethnic and religious groups, each vying for control and representation in the government. Amidst these internal divisions, a neighbouring country has been covertly providing financial support, arms, and training to insurgent groups within Al-Jatar. These insurgents, primarily drawn from disenfranchised factions within the region, have been waging a relentless campaign against the provisional government.
News headlines from Al-Jatar paint a grim picture of daily life: bombings in urban centres, clashes between government forces and insurgents in the countryside, and displaced civilians seeking refuge in neighbouring countries. Humanitarian organizations are stretched thin as they struggle to provide aid to those caught in the crossfire.
As the situation in Anizay reaches a tipping point, British and American forces have been deployed to Al-Jatar to support the government and counter the growing threat. They work closely with the Al-Jatar National Army to coordinate their operations, share intelligence, and strike at the heart of the insurgency. With the conflict showing no signs of abating, the insurgents launch increasingly brazen attacks on government and military targets, and the British and American forces respond with force, conducting airstrikes and ground operations to dismantle the rebel group.
With government & international forces gaining ground, insurgents begin to splinter and some factions express a willingness to negotiate. As such, a Joint US/UK Force Protection Company has been set up in the capital, with US forces providing the majority of personnel for High Ranking Military & Political protection and the British forces deploying 3 Commando Brigade to support in the wider region on more generic tasking.
MISSION:UK Joint Force Protection Company are to conduct an early morning patrol to locate and make contact with Liwa al-Thawra forces to the East of the Capital City of Farabad.
