NEW ArmA Game confirmed

NEW ArmA Game confirmed by Jay Crowe. Will use Enfusion Engine.

Jay Crowe said on Twitter and i quote "Tanks is our last 'announced' title, & project lead VojtechKovaric is busy working out post-release plans, which we'll share as soon as we can. Suffice to say, we're already laying the foundations of a future Arma with work on our next engine, Enfusion, but its a long road..!

Does bring up interesting questions of should they make it backwards compatible with the current series or start afresh. I guess I have differing views on this and I’m not sure which one they should take. I’d be interested to hear what some of the more knowledgable people here think on the subject.

As much as it would bugger our mods, I really bloody hope they make a clean start. There is so much crap and inconsistent junk that's accumulated over the last two decades, modding in Arma is a real nuisance.

1-2 years before release
1-2 years after release for the community to fragment and then rebuild.

So 3-4 years before we're back to our current state.  A long time....

It's good news nonetheless.

So 3-4 years of still using Arma 3 then before a slow transition to Arm4.

Well interestingly this same question came up in 2012 and it did fracture us for a while. All the newer player (including me) wanted to run A3 as it was so much more fluid even if we had no mods. The older crew wanted to stay with A2 which was very well developed to be fair and had a great play experience. It took us about 6 months to move over 100% thanks to Massi who released a UKSF pack which was good enough for us to at least feel like a British unit.

It was the same with the move from Arma 2 to Arma 3.. So life goes on.. :)

Sorry to be late to the party.... But I feel when that point comes we should hold fire on A4 for a good while, maybe do optional missions on there as a testing phase for us as a unit and the game, lets think as well not everyone will have the game straight away.

I think with all the hard work gone into the mods and development here in A3 it'd be a waste to switch immediately. There's hours and hours of fun to be had, and if it's been this way since 2012 then what's a extra year or so going to have?

None the less can't wait for A4 but there's no rush :D

Not really sure what to put here yet....
