XMedSys

Morning lads,

Now that XMedSys seems to be working okay (touch wood) I just had a look on the Bis forums and X39 had posted in his topic about the order of how to heal someone.  It's an interesting read and if he implements his changes of a permanent broken leg after using a tourniquet we need to change our medical process.

It's best practice to remove the Tourniquet after bleeding has stopped anyway.. so no real change there.. As long as the medic REMEMBERS to do it..

Great system - Re. the Tourniquets; I generally carry 4-5 in my kit when I'm a medic - very helpful when I have a number of folks down at the same time - additionally when I get to someone immediately, I don't bother with the tourniquet and go straight for the bandages - generally saves me the extra 2 steps and avoids me forgetting to pop it off when I'm done.

My only critique would be the speed and rate of passing out/coming to. Otherwise, it appears to be working smoothly these days.

I've been experimenting with the amount of damage you need before you pass out. If you recall when you were hit in ACE did allow you a grace period, (unless shot in the head !) in which time you could get to cover, apply basic first aid.

In xmedsys this was set to a very low damage level - I've increased this slightly for testing on the public.

ARKA, in my experience you're currently offering best practice on in field First Aid.

I wonder if it might be wise for there to be a quick 5 minute instructional tonight before we kick off the mission where you could talk people through the right procedure. I still hear lots of people not following the right steps.

If not appropriate tonight then perhaps have you join the Training sessions as the official medic trainer (no pressure!!)

What do you think.

Indeed - would be great to have that small window to crawl into somewhat of a covered position before passing out - particularly if you're hit in the abdomen/limbs.

And yep,  I don't mind giving a quick run-through tonight if any folks have questions. Additionally, happy to give some insight (in what works well for me anyway) during the training sessions if need be.

Looks very complicated, something that we would say have to use Xmed on the public and this after a couple of weeks of training and practice on the private.

Do not update Xmed system to 3.0.2. It has a bug which makes you unable to heal yourself
