PlayWithSix Survey

I am doing a little survey about PlayWithSix and could use some feedback on it. I am not only doing this here, but the number of people using it here is obviously pretty high.

So if you could answer these questions, that would be nice.

Tbe Background is that I did a big cleanup of my mods and I am technically unable to reinstall the mods we use, because PwS6 crashes or is stopping the download. I want to figure out if it is just me or if other people also have similar issues and what their overall experience with the tool is. All I can say right now is that I think that PwS is the worst piece of software for the enduser that can be used right now. I am not sure if the state of the software is just caused by incompetence or by a terrible business model.

I've been using PwS for roughly 1.5 years now
Without premium: in the low hundreds (KBps). With premium: 10-15 MBps (Yes, those are capital 'B's for byte, not bit)
Stable connection: I have never seen any actual connection issues
Stable PwS: It throws non-fatal exceptions on a fairly regular basis and crashes every few hours

Premium: Yes, it removed the ads and the download speeds improved incredibly.

3CB Repo: With premium it usually takes 2h, including occasionally restarting a crashed PwS
Problems: PwS crashed once or twice but since I only lost progress on the current mod it didn't significantly increase the time needed.

I'm not sure what this survey does other than fan your own frustration with the software Mefirst.

You're having issues with it... why not ask for help rather than assume it's the software....  ?

I can promise you there is little to no chance of us changing our method of sharing mods - unless something significantly better comes along. 

Nodoy is forcing you to take part or comment Serjames. I wish you figure out when it makes sense to post in some threads and when it does not. . It is not like you take the chance to post against ACE3 Medical a lot in every thread related to it. So you might want to take some time and reflect a bit on your behavior.

What is the point of this thread? I would like to know (and I posted this also in other ArmA 3 forums) if my experience with PwS is different from the one that other people may get.

Well let me know when you have the answer, will be fascinated to see how it all pans out.

How long have you been using PwS6?
1 year

What is your average speed for downloads?
10-20 mbps

How stable is the connection to PwS during a download?
100%, I cannot remember ever seeing it drop a connection during a download

How stable is PwS itself when it's running?
Crashes may be once every 1-2 weeks, almost always when its just sitting in the background.

I'm probably not the average user, with 40+ collections and swap collections many times an hour when modding.

No

How long did it take you to download the 3CB repo?
No idea, I have only ever done it once in 12 months

~1y seen it first within 3CB

What is your average speed for downloads?
~700kb/s ( my local bandwith maximum ) 

How stable is the connection to PwS during a download?
no strange restarts / disconnects during downloads

How stable is PwS itself when it's running?
if i let it be for the first 12sec it behaves, but it kinda needs this first 12sek to be left alone ... lately it started to behave strange if i start it without starting options

nope never

nope ....

How long did it take you to download the 3CB repo?
not sure left it running overnight iirc ... but i'll guess 6h ++

Did you encounter any problems while downloading and installing the repo?
yeah ... alot .. strange restarts / hangs it self up / checking takes longer then expected

400 - 1mb

How stable is the connection to PwS during a download?
100%

How stable is PwS itself when it's running?
Crashes once or twice a week.

No idea - has been over a year now.

Did you encounter any problems while downloading and installing the repo?
No issues

I had a download speed last night of 700kb/s
