Yeah I'll be buying it for definite - I'll probably pre-order it when I get paid next week.
Given the amount of hours I have sunk in to their games, BI are one of the few companies I'm happy to pre-order from.

Plus the new island looks epic... Can't wait for some of our Ops to give it a blast

I generally don't preorder but in the case of Arma I don't really associate my payments with the DLC stuff I get, I'm just throwing money at my screen hoping it'll make some of the engine limitations go away ;)

I'll go with the prevailing wind. If it is necessary for the map and we use the map then okay I'll buy it.

I guess once it hits dev branch we'll be able to assess whether it's any good. The price is a bit lower than I expected it to be (£20 preorder, £25 final) so we'll see how it goes :)

Apparently we aren't going to be using it because not everybody will have the expansion and you need it to join a server running the map. That's what I've been told by somebody anyway, don't know if it's true or not.

No such thing official - It's not even released yet. And we all know it will be on Deal multiple times through the next 12 months or so.

I've said it before and I'll say it again here.

We would be crazy not to get onboard with this right from day1. The expansion will generate a lot of returning and new interest. It could even cost us members who go elsewhere to play with the expansion should we not adopt it early.

The fact that a couple can't or won't get it should not hold back the rest of the group. Don't forget that this game is ageing and it needs fresh content like this to keep interest and membership up.

If there are genuine cases of established members struggling to get it then I'm sure that we will all help out to keep them in the loop.

As a PR tool for attracting new recruits, what better than a public mission on Tanoa on day one  ....

Agreed, if any members do struggle we should have a list of birthdays for members make a bday pot for them to get the dlc

Assuming the terrain doesn't turn out to be completely unplayable on anything short of SJ's godlike gasoline-fueled 50megawatt super-computer, I'd be very keen to get us setup for a "day one" tanoa public mission.
I'd also be happy to donate a few copies of the dlc for the bday pot ;)

Agreed. We could do it a couple of days before and have an edited video before launch. it would require us to go to dev branch for about a week before release.
