GeForce update

So a little bit related to Arma but GeForce released an update yesterday (15/02) and in the release notes it states 'prior to new release our driver team is working up until the last minute to increase performance.... learn more about getting optimal experience' and one of the games listed is Arma 3.  Does that mean we can expect to see Eden this week or next week?

Might just be the standard update text, but Eden is scheduled for a February release. Maybe we'll actually see better performance? I highly doubt it though -- it's not like my GPU was holding me back in Arma anway xD

nvidia added a 'game ready' profile for arma3 ..

.... 'they optimised thier drivers to work better in conjunction with the Game Ready games'

... best guess .. Nvidia actualy looks into the game puts some effort into optimising the driver for it ...

... worst guess ... all marketing s**t and nvidia just graps new releases and says 'the new relase of <xyz> will run good in our grafixcards, we optimised our drivers for <xyz>', there is nothing to loose since its none validadeable they can allways say that without the possibility of being disproven =) ... and 'the coustomer' will say 'hey nividia optimised for the game i want to buy, the others didnt say so. I'll better buy the optimised hardware' =)

.. realistic guess ... nvidia also has a system in place that 'configures the game' for the user ... and they added some 'default profiles' for arma3 user who would otherwise run with the 'autodetect' feature within arma

full release notes @ http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/361.91/361.91-win10-win8-win7-winvista-desktop-release-notes.pdf if you want to read them =) ... fast search for 'arma3' only showed the marketing BS that is also on the webside no additional info  ...

cheers moeses

It's nVidia. They are probably going to nerf older cards so that greenteam fanboys have to buy new ones.

The sneakiest most unco-operative tech firm on the planet. They bring nothing to the party unless is makes their latest lineup look good while destroying the performance of everything else (including their own older cards).

I read somewhere that DX12 is taking so long and may never get off the ground properly because nVidia will massively lose out. AMD cards are stomping all over nVidia in every test. This is hardly surprising considering how many gamed have had nVidia input that have lead to poor performance on competitors cards.

Rant over

Certainly an interesting perspective,

Do you have any evidence to support your bold claims?

rofl youtube is not evidence ... its pure tinfoil hattery.

look at the benchmarks, the expertise and size of the dev teams, the direction of the company, and you'll see that video is hmmm .... possibly a little biased (untrue)

Once dx12 is standard I'm sure AMDs twice annual driver updates will keep them ahead of the game
