SKYRIM

So little bit bored of ARMA at the moment - missing Apollo :P

Anyway - so thought I'd give Skyrim a go... Had the download for years (big Steam sale guy and then never play them)

... but you know me - never one to accept a game at face value - so had to Mod it..

Sheesh is it more complicated or what to mod than Arma - took me 3.5 days to finally install everyhing off of the S.T.E.P. recommended list and configure them.... and am now really enjoying it...

It's just so BIG !?

Anyone got any uber mods I must run ? Was gonna try out Howls Angry Arrows

Quite enjoying collecting crappy weapons, melting them down and smithing them up into Hinges to melt down etc etc etc....

I modded Skyrim (mostly) successfully, at least technically, but I managed to make the game so deep/slow (all the realism/survival/no-fast-travel makes the game a loooot slower) that I just got too bored to continue playing.
Even with a modded combat system, I still didn't really enjoy fighting in Skyrim...always felt a bit clunky, a bit like CQB did in A2 -- always some layer of seperation between you and your char.

Any reccomendations on alternate combat systems? I want to give Skyrim another go, maybe even a full playthrough this time ....

Just downloaded Skyrim - never played it before. About to launch the game, I found this overly satisfying:

Jamie I highly recommend following S.T.E.P. mod process. Basically sets you up for the "pw6 experience" and recommends a load of fully tested compatible improvements. None of which are lore breaking or user cheat weapons etc.

Will get a link if you're interested, but should be easily googleable
