'the game' comes with a 6MB steam client on the disk ... and there is no preload phase ... so have fun even trying to get that to run on release day =)

Downloaded it in less than an hour this morning (quite surprised actually) :P

Only played the first 1 and 1/2 hours, but my god it's awesome. 60fps, glorious graphics, and I can feel this one's gonna have a huge storyline.

And so it begins...

Can someone give me a summary of what this is... "Metal Gear solid" sounds like a dodgy Casio Watch brand to me ?

Errm, It's kinda hard to explain the storyline without writing an essay.

Basically it's a sandbox (semi)tactical 3rd/1st person shooter that's heavily storyline based (although there is an online mode). I've been playing these games since 1998 (although I only played a demo of MGS1 on the PS1) and loved every one of them. The storyline and cinematography are easily comparable to that of a Hollywood Blockbuster.

Not exactly, it's not a role-playing game like Skyrim is. MGS V is the only game out of the series to include a sandbox element (previous titles were strictly linear) - perhaps to compete with GTA V. I suppose, if I had to pick a genre/game to compare it to, it's a bit like GTA V with a strong anime theme.

There's nothing worse than being overly excited for this game with internet as s*#@ as mine. ETA 15 hours...

It's a (very good) stealth game with some open world aspects to it. You also get to manage your base and stuff. Also they did a pretty solid job porting the game to the pc. Runs with all stuff on max very smoothly and I dont have a high end pc.

Here are some spoiler free sceenshots.

Only played a few hours but worth every penny so far. The game is gorgeous and there seems to be days of content. You're welcome to my free copy of ground zeroes if you want Arka, but I'm not sure it does TPP justice. It'll give you an idea as to graphics and gameplay though
