Cheers Cat, I'll have a Google over what the first bit means and where I can get it. Hopefully there's some quality free stuff I can use that won't get me thrown in the slammer.

Tbh if you're not wanting to make money from it or get partnership then you should be fine. Depends what music you use but its only going to get you a copyright notice which is not going to do much.

Although it can get your video blocked in some countries or worldwide. Depends anyway.

Well I uploaded it to YouTube and a short while later it was unavailable with a copyright notice shown and something about a 3 strikes policy. So I deleted it straight away. I'm a law-abiding citizen your Honour. I even pay for games and software and everything.

I'm obviously not ignorant of copyright issues, but thought that an amateur game play footage with no revenue earn would be ok, especially as I've seen so much music on the net - I mean, how does everyone else get away with it?! Here are some non-official videos playing exactly the same song, the list is a long one...I don't get it. Howl mentioned something about pitch-changing, perhaps that's it?

Apollo it may have something to do with the fact that your video mostly has the original audio muted while your other videos include the original audio alongside the music. Since you're just playing the music track alone, YouTube picks this up automatically as a copyright issue. At least, that's my guess.

Good point, they're probably using some fancy Uber version of shazaam - automatically picks up the music and slaps the warning.

If there was something obscuring it ?

Yeah Jamie is right. You can get away with it by pitch change or slowing the track down by .1 so the song is longer by a second. Video content can sometimes be flipped so the clip is mirrored which also can confuse.

But if you have music with audio in the background, better if it is speech which confuses to self commentary.

I've got tons of videos that have copyright notice because of music and not many do much about it.
