Something I keep forgetting to say: since we changed to Altis, it seems to get confused who should be SL a lot more. If you slot in as Charlie, you'll only get given the actual squad command about 40% of the time, and if other people slot in later, they will sometimes take command from you. This has always happened occasionally, it just seems to be vastly more likely now... has a mod-conflict manifested, or is there maybe a misconfigured init for some of the spawn units?

If I was to guess, I think the mission maker overlooked the ranks of the playable units when they were placed in the editor. Usually you set the SL and FTL to higher ranks (say Sergeant and Corporal respectively) than the rest of the squad of units (Private). That way it will always assign SL to the highest rank, passing it to the second highest if SL is not available, third highest etc... If they are all the same, it sometimes randomly selects who should be squad lead.

yes it's unit ranks. i guess the original mission was ported from an older version of apollo's template before we fixed it.

i'll add it to the list.
