Artillery can be great fun, glad to hear you're having a BLAST...

Of course, in the wrong hands it can also ruin a public server. We found this out to our cost when we added it as a feature to a mission in the early days of 3CB. Without a permanent admin presence on a 24/7 open public server it's unfortunately too easily abused. (As discussed many times before, we could white-list slots, but this is too much of an admin burden and isn't going to happen!)
The best way to handle this, and indeed anything else that is potentially game balance changing, is to allow our Zeus's (Cpl+) the option to spawn these items in, as long as it adds to the players enjoyment, is in keeping with the mission and is not abused. But they also need to remove them when they log-off, or ensure that ammo is limited so that when the responsible 3CB players leave, we don't find some random pubbie has subsequently destroyed the base, all the towns and added more craters to the moon for good measure.
By way of an update following the problems caused by the ArmA 1.54 patch,
- we have now fixed the Virtual Arsenal so it won't eat your weapon and is safe to use.
- we'll be staying with the
missions which use the AAF as Opfor, until RHS update their pack so that their uniforms/vests have armour values, then we can fight the Russians again. This is expected to be fairly soon.
- Leights Opfor (Takiban etc) is potentially more problematic, so those missions will be the last to be reinstated.
