As for me, if it can be avoided, I prefer not to directly poke anybody in TS in case, as you say, they happen to be busy. Nor should I have to, apart from the fact it has proved unsuccessful in the past, the forum usually works fine for quick communication in regards to the public server and unless the need is immediate for a large active group, is my preferred choice.
I frequently get pokes on TS from public players requesting a server restart, and I usually respond straight away. Poking is the fastest way to get a restart. If you don't get a response after ~10 minutes,
then make a forum post.
Also you seem to be under the impression that you "shouldn't have to" request a server restart. May I ask why? As others have stated - we're hobbyists, not employees.
We do this for fun, and expect little in return. It simply isn't feasible to expect a server to be in 100% condition
all the time. Help us help you by letting us know when the server needs a restart, and we'll respond as soon as we can.
