Also, on the subject of chickenhawk would it perhaps be possible to have additional FOBs. Specifically one in the far north of the map, which seems slightly neglected compared to the cities to the East and West of the map, perhaps due to the distance.

This one will (has) run over the 3 day time because 
a) it's new
b) it has the LCU (new)
c) it will be updated shortly with a new restricted arsenal, that will then be rolled out to other missions in rotation

I'll think about additional FOB's, cheers.

- added @xla_fixedarsenal scripts to virtual arsenal boxes (restricts the gear available, list approved by NCO's).

Had another nightmare with the command line. Trial and error, found @blx had to be lower than normal. Makes no sense.

Is it the gamepanel or ARMA - Lifetap suggested we were using an out of date version that might perhaps be hindering the start up ?

It could be the game panel. It would at least be nice to try an alternative (if one exists) to see if it we can eliminate it as a variable.

It was the usual "Destroy after Create" error message, with no MP selection screen on start-up. Googling shows this message has been around since ArmA 2 days and it's not specific to 3CB.

I had to go through the usual, 'add one mod at a time' process until I found the one that broke it - 2+ wasted hours. This time it was @blx that needed to be moved. Previously it's been @rksl_attachments, @3cb_baf_weapons, @hlcmod_ak etc. There's no rhyme or reason obvious to me. You remember the trouble we had with @3cb_baf_weapons before? Look how high it's happy to go now!

What is more baffling, is that exactly what we needed was running happily on Dev2, but copying it across to make a duplicate did not work (same command line, same mission, same keys). I even re-typed the whole lot in case of hidden characters, but that didn't work either.

On a positive note, HC now works again. It needed a separate Steam client update which Goodson did, and we now have a 2nd remote desktop icon for administering next time.

+1 on the thermal sights i was in a warrior with cougar so had the benefit of thermals but soon as i turnt out couldn't see the infantry around us who were 10 metres away let alone any contacts.

@Thermal sights: I think you'll need to go over SJ's dead body for that one... ;) 
@Magazines: That's part of the whitelist scripting. It's to increase magazine compatibility inside sections. Don't worry, the ammo in the vanilla ones is the exact same as the one in the 3CB

Sorry about the weather.. I guess sometimes it's unavoidable. Seems like most people made the best of what looked to be dreadfully challenging conditions.

Remember you can always poke any of the Admins for a Server restart... if they're not on TS, try their Steam message. can add me on "SerJames" :-)

Controlling the weather is less simple to be honest - though there is some flexibility within ALiVE and ACE3 too I believe - I personally hate the nightime too - looking down a toilet tube at green baddies isn't really my idea of fun :-)

I think night time no moon and heavy cloud cover is just impossible to do anything in though.

The difference in FPS is probably the fact that King of the Hill only has 100 players and no AI on the map, where as the public server has 1000+ cached AI spread over the map and is having to keep a track of them.

Also, I doubt thermal scopes on weapons will be returning. They have always been frowned upon at 3cb for their overpowered capability. However, there is nothing stopping people working as a team. Have one person using a laser designator (which has thermals) walking in the rounds of his fellow team mates who do not have thermals. It's how I used to do it in Arma 2 as part of the MG team.
