Suggestion for the Green Zone.

Switch the two man recce/sniper&spotter team with a three man mortar unit. I think mortars controlled by players can make the mission easier and more fun and the terrain of the map does not really work for traditional sniper/recce gameplay due to the relatively flat landscape etc.

Edit: So I tried to play the mortar and I think it is not set up correctly? Artillery computer is disables (which is welcomed) but when you get in the mortar (vanilla or 3CB) you only see the elevation settings and nothing else. Meaning you have no data to actually point the mortar at something you cant see.

It uses the ACE system. You will need to pick up a range table item from the crate (or Virtual Arsenal) and read up on how it works. You will need to work out distance to target and use the range table to set it to that elevation.

Thats not what I meant and I am aware how the system in ACE that can be enabled works.

When you are in the mortar you get two values shown:
Elevation
Traverse

On the map on Kunduz right now you will only see the elevation values and the space where you should see the traverse settings is just a empty space.

Right now on the map it will only show the elevation and not any traverse values. Meaning you will have no idea how to allign the mortar so you will hit the target.

v4
- Tweaked Profile count to help with frames
- Set Max View-Distance as some players are running Silly View distances and this is causing FPS issues for themselves and everyone else (Prior Settings allowed 12000,12000!)
- Added ambience (!)
- Changed Cobra to Apache - due to noise complaints from - neighbours

Mefirst there is an option to disable the elev in the module for ACE artillery. SJ may need to have a look at it.

Nah, you would use the map tools to find the right angle from the position of the mortar to the target. You cant access the compass when you are in the gun and as Andy said, there is most likely something not 100% correctly right in the modul on the map about it.

After playing some more I personally think that you dont exactly need AI to keep your back safe. It is in general not such a big issue to get new players from the rear to the front. What is correct is that you can not always expect it to be 100% safe and you may (or may not) get under minor fire when you try to get back to the rest of your section. The fact that not everything is safe forever makes the map nice and also a bit different compared to some other maps we have in the rotation right now. Players can get in trouble when they try to get back to the front on their own, alone and in a quad bike, but that can be expected. It would be smarter to get transport by whiskey, wait for 1-2 players or at least take a land rover which is offering some protection.

Played yesterday for about 2 hours on the map and we did not encounter any IED's or suicide bombers and that was after a restart of the map.

The map still seems to have some issues with the framerate in general and I dont know why.

Mortars are fine. They just moved the traverse settings to the very top of the mortar display in one of the last updates and I failed to see it. You gotta change the values with ace interaction from mills to meters/degrees so you can see the angle you need for the target.
So all is fine. :D

Great little Op on the public tonight; 1-1 section going it alone against a Russian Artillery emplacement on the North of Podagorsk! Good work everyone.

Cheers Alexander for the impromptu Zeus gameplay!
