I played a bit Hearts & Minds in the last days and here are some of my thoughts. They are pretty much a utopia, but maybe some good ideas can come out of it.
Right now there is a good chance that you patrol areas and nothing is happening and that there is also not much to do. I would like the idea that when that a lot of villages have more placed village elders and when you talk to them about certain things, it could create something like minor tasks for the guys.
Quote:
Example:
Player A: Goes to the village elder.
Scroll Wheel or other option to talk to him about certain things:
- Seen any insurgents around hhere?
- Can we help you with something?
- Have you seen IED's around here?
There could be a good chance that when you talk to him about let's say
"Seen any insurgents around here?" that it will actually create a a little task in the nearby area and it could maybe spawn a camp or maybe just a patrol in the nearby area with a rough markers. Something like that could certainly give players a bit more direction and could make checking out smaller villages and not just known major hot-spots in the north more fun.
Oh and I have not encountered a single IED lately. So maybe the number could be raised a bit.
