There is no method for retrieving data from the XML file within Arma - whitelists will have to be created manually using player's Steam IDs (the old whitelist from the A2 server won't work unfortunately).

An alternative could be to just lock CAS aircrafts to 3CB members (as they tend to be the ones which do the most damage to game-play when played poorly), and leave transport vehicles open to all?

They also get trashed.

True, but on the plus side we have half decent AI alternatives, and ground vehicles if they do :).
