Agree with Robbie on the waste of time adding it, but I don't about the novelty,  I think it'd be a nice change to the Jackals and Coyotes, You have them up to on the hills providing cover and the foxhound in the town providing a bit more protection for the troops inside.  That's what they are designed for.

But as has already been pointed out we might as well wait for him to release it and even then it needs to go through the RPT checking and game testing process.

I don't doubt for a second that they are useful. I just see them going the way of the mastiff. Only used by the few people who value the worth of them.

They lack a gun. Players like guns.

His men would follow him anywhere, but only out of curiosity.

I wouldn't say it'd just be for the novelty. Mastiff's are actually pretty useful and offer far more protection than the Jackals and Coyotes do by a mile. Also has more troop capacity, but I think I might be wrong about that one.The only reason I can think of as to why people rarely use the Mastiff now is because that it lacks the ACE interact menu and is a massive hassle to use. Not only that but most if not all of our public and private missions are conventional based warfare rather than the patrol, hearts and minds tactics of that used in Afghanistan and late Iraq where IEDs, RPGs and small arms fire are most common. I.E Late OP Tellic and Herrick. Scenarios in which the Mastiff excels at. Meanwhile, for us atleast, the Jackal is mostly used because it fits our playstyle of medium to long distance engagements, quick travel and troop movement, and the occasional ambush or two. And if we came to a scenario in which CQC is required, we'd ditch the Jackals in the rear because of the lack of protection and go on by foot. I've recalled multiple scenarios where some sections simply decided to ditch the vehicles because they're not any use in Urban combat environments. An area where the Mastiff and possibly Burnes' Foxhound will do a better job at.

Obviously we can't tell what it's going to be like IG simply over the fact that we haven't tested it and there isn't enough information, so we can't really make solid ground for an argument on the matter, but if it does have the speed of a Jackal and Coyote, and the same protection as the Mastiff with more guns, I could see it being used a lot more frequently.

But again, we can't be 100% sure on what it's like without testing it on a Dev server, releasing it on the public server once it comes out, and maybe using it in Mid-week and private ops.

That one lad from Essex.

Once it's out we'll approach Burnes and see if its at all possible to include it alongside our Jackals/Coyotes.  In that way we can add our plates, reload mechanics and custom loadouts.

Dont get me wrong. I like the Jackals and Coyotes but I would also love to have a wheeled ground vehicle for transport that actually has some "walls".  I wouldnt even mind if it is unarmed, because that would also make balancing missions and scenarios much easier. Sending out one troop in Jackals only can already be quite devastating because of their mix of speed and fire power.

There is no war to end all wars.

I'm a massive fan of variety. And would love to give us more choice. The point about Ied resistance and urban ops is a good one.

The jackals/coyotes are a recce vehicle that can also do fire support. We misuse them a lot.
