C130 Mod Discussion

I am always unsure about large air vehicles like that. Those things tend to outlive their usefulness and fun factor pretty fast. However it is something that can be handy for private operations and zeus missions etc.

I'd support a large transport Bird - C-130 or C-17.

Would be fun being Para's for the day...

Also given it's bound to be shot down in short order... lots of scope for rescue missions etc

Ultimately we do have plans to make a 3CB C130. We were given the model by Sabre[Dust] and it is on the 3CB repo if you want to have a look, Delta. However, in the meantime, if there is a ready made and error free British version available for us, I wouldn't mind having it included. It would be nice to do a few parachute jumps, and with the 3CB ammunition being a more realistic weight, it could be nice to get some logistics going.

I've got nothing in principle against it.
If it's error free (or as good as when tested), is kind of appropriate to our unit and doesn't unbalance game play (assuming we're talking public server here) what's not to like.

In regards of training. I think we have more important things to train, or decide we will not do it. Everybody can jump out of a plane, the only real reason to keep a specific order is to regroup faster on the ground. However I think we should train more basic skills anyway. But I am drifting away from the topic.

Delta - anything ever come of that logistics script? If we are using C-130 then we need that script for sure!
Delta and I gave it a test but there were some tiny issues. Mostly it comes down to the fact that you can load people and stuff at the same time (i.e. you're sitting and there's a jackal clipping into half your body).
If we want to add it, we'd have to edit the script to not allow silly things like putting 30 marines + 2 landrovers in the back of a single chinook.

Yep - I know that Apollo has an amazing new/old map he's working on right now...

Possible we can get it added after the initial Launch/test

There is, but it's not very pretty and obviously has USAF livery. The US vehicles in general seem to be lacking a bit, especially in the texture department. Somebody rightfully called the inside of one vehicle "lego-like" because all it was was a single tan colour with some shadows baked in, no details/text/anything. The equipment (uniforms and especially vests and helmets) are much much better.

The C-130J in the RHS US Pack is only able to drop Quadbike everything else explodes with it either by opening the ramp and then dropping the cargo, or dropping the cargo first and  then it opens the ramp, it does not really matter, it will blow up no matter what. :D
Otherwise it looks pretty cool. :D
We could check out the C-17's again ,they're able to load up multiple vehicles and drop them out of the sky, though it seemed like there were some desync issues with them while dropping them. But you could drop an Abrahms tank without any problems.
