3CB BAF Units V 3.0 - Feedback and Bug Reports


The config lads spent countless hours on this one, and due to the nature of this particular mod, a wider "live" test would be very valued from all users :).

So please take the time to test out the new unit configurations on the pub and private over the coming weeks, and leave your feedback: questions, anything not working correctly, missing gear, conflicts, additional suggestions, what you like/don't like, etc...

We have not experienced such issues during testing.  Would you be able to give examples.  Also is this on our public server (just so we know which mods are loaded)

lifetap...this is probably related to the module default setting I was suggesting, given that there is no module placed on the current missions and we're using ACE to reload?

Default Gear on Respawn:     Yes (No) - Select 'No' to allow other mods or scripts to set unit gear on respawn

Solution: add module with "No" to each and every mission

Just to add some clarification - Klawc told me that the duping was occurring in the backpacks as well (I remember this being a previous issue with the Units).

When we're talking about the duplication of items, is this during normal game play or is it after death / respawn / etc.

Apollo is correct in saying that the default behaviour for the units mod is to reload all equipment on a respawn.  This will conflict with the ACE / ALive respawn mechanisms, if they are enabled.  Which they are on the public server.  We provide a  3cb module that can be placed in the mission to disable this reloading during respawns.  This is achieved by setting "Default Gear on Respawn" to "No".

If equipment is being duplicated outside of the respawn period, then we have a bug.

Edit Sorry Noah, our posts passed.  What do you mean by "reload"? As in reload a weapon ?

I restarted server on game panel. Loged in took gear from VA and went afk. I came back and stanags were in my gear. it looks like it add them every few minutes. i got SL gear from start every time.

Repawning wipes your gear in some cases (ie contents of back packs and vest disappear)

Also random mags not related to your weapon spawn in too

If you are a JIP player, you'll see your loadout loaded twice.  The first is the default, the second is mission specific (using a map module within the mission).  Everything should be stable after 6-7 seconds.

You are correct, this is a bug. Thanks for spotting it.

In fact, it's not entirely true. He does have a UAV terminal - it's added by his config, and you can see it in game for a few seconds after spawn.
However, what then happens is that the 3CB BAF Configuration kicks in with the default "Add GPS = Yes" option, and his UAV terminal gets overwritten by the GPS.
You can check this by putting down the module and setting Add GPS = No, then you'll see his terminal (but other units will not have GPS's).

I'll add it to the bug tracker for the Units to be fixed in the next update.

When I place down BAF units in the editor, they lose their vest, backpack and Helmet? Tried putting the module down too but still just that. Tried just one unit. Tried spawning several units. All with no vest, backpack or helmet. Any ideas?
I'll keep on it to try and figure whats going on...
