I think that sounds like a method worth trying out at least :)

We do have the capability to track units down to fire team level with bowman. There is a light weight tablet and vehicle mounted stuff to do it when it is set up in the plan for the net.

Hmm that's an idea /moon-on-stick mode on

We could create our own bowman based gui ? Do the tablets (devices) look similar?

Good luck with the project, Serjames. The mod team wishes you all the best.

Pretty funny how I tried to bring this convo up for 3 years and now its blown up LOL

Anyway yeah map markers and SL/Troop/Pilots with cTab would be great.  There is no reason that a rifleman should be able to draw on the map and everyone sees it, cTab allows the ever increasing use of datalink which is realistic.  If we ever do any more 'historical' style missions we can just not use it.  :D

I agree and I have to say I do not like the idea that every "rifleman" has a microdragger in midweek and private operations. If he has it, there is pretty much no reason to use the mod. I am with Frosty on this one and there is another aspect to it.

The android, tablet and also the microdagger have this inbuilt map tool and this feels a bit too easy. I would be more happy if rifleman still know how to use map tools and dont always have a magic icon that shows them the direction and distance. Map tools are still needed if you want to check direction and distance to from a point that you are not standing on and I feel that people form a bit of a bad habit with the microdagger and forget these little skills.

In the end I would be more happier if people like section commanders and fireteam leaders get the full picture over those devices. "Rifleman can still locate their own position with a GPS and otherwise use good old things like a compass and map tools. When they get "lost" they should try to contact people over the radio or move to designated areas of the map, which adds another nice layer to our gameplay.

There is no war to end all wars.

If you Google bowman LTDT, and UDT it should bring up the new tablet and the laptop should give you and idea and probably the rest of the Data stuff. Other than that I don't have any I can take photos of or even copying pages out of the book.

As I have the coding skills of a one handed elephant (!) and the artistic ability of ... Well you get the idea, it's highly unlikely we'll be able to do anything :-)
