You probably should learn how to. They'll be a while.

When you say modders you mean modelers or are you using it as an umbrella i.e. modelers, retextures, scripting coding etc

Catch all term. We need skilled texture artists, modellers, animators, etc....

Did someone call CAS support?

I take we already have a small number of people who are capable of these tasks? If we could get a gauge on how many are interested maybe we could set up a forum section dedicated to modding tutorials and resources? Those who are already fluent in the various skills could post how-to's from time to time and it would help to train more modders. I know I'd certainly be interested in this sort of program and I'd imagine others would be too.

P.S. Clyde with regards to your location; MSR Route = Main Supply Route Route!

Oh Dwayne, just so you're aware all of us apart from Lifetap have come into this with barely any prior experience and we have taught ourselves.  There is loads of youtube videos, some of the more arma specific stuff is just trial and error.  What you would need to do is pick an area and say start modelling.  Produce something either useful or that shows off you're skill and show it to Lifetap.  So just as an example, in the last year I taught myself Blender, I started to create a model and slowly realised that it A wasn't working and B it wasn't quite the area for me.  However blender allows for lots of other things like weight painting and yes you may have guessed it animations.  I then proceeded to teach myself the latter and I have created numerous animations, I still have a long way to go because it isn't just as simple as creating an animation but getting it in game and looking "naturalistic".

That's just an example of an approach, Evrik for example now can do texturing. Apollo can create an entire Landy...

@Dwayne tutorials etc are unlikely to happen for a number of reasons.  Firstly, creating tutorials takes an enormous amount of work.  We have so few people in the mod team that we do not have the capacity for such a project.  Also, I have yet to see anyone in the team who is motivated to produce tutorials.  We're doing this in our spare time, so prefer to do things we enjoy.

The A3 engine and how we make mods is continually changing.  It's a harsh approach, but if someone needs spoon feeding with tutorials and is not prepared to dig around on the BIS forums/YouTube etc then they're probably not well suited to modding in the first place.  At least on the A3 engine.
