To be fair, this can be a nightmare. Some people gladly expect that a german infantry group (which is usually 8-12 players) to walk into enemy fire as long as the move in a neat formation. ;-) 

Getting in formation like that for briefings etc. is not that hard to actually get it done. There is a pretty easy and fast procedure to do it.
