My distrust of AH isn't (exclusively) derived from snobbery, it also makes it difficult to react to rapid threats and you'll see it get pilots killed when there's a missile launch from close. Quite aside from that, the risk of complacency and loss of situational awareness (as you'll normally be drifting sideways slowly).

And Parker, you referring to the curved approach with the last few metres being sideways?
