If danger close is called, does responsibility for casualties not fall on the person who called it in?

The call has to be first cleared with the commander of the unit that is in the kill zone (in this case 1-2C).  They have to approve the attack and ultimately take responsibility.

So that's a break in protocol between the FAC and 1-2C.

I ain't trying to shift blame, I should have spotted the map marker, and I should have possibly flown lower to do a uniform check, and I missed this alleged friendly grid.

I'm just saying you aren't blameless :P

I wasn't there, but if Jetrise was as usual using a set format for the CAS call, it's probably a case of that format not being fully understood by all parties. This is why I've been using the same format for mortar calls for 1+ year now - no-one can ever claim that they thought one part meant something else.

Is it possible that due to misunderstanding of what part of the call meant what, Aeobrix thought that the friendly grid was the target grid?

We are currently in the process of standardising the CAS request format, some what more in line with what the British Army uses, once this has been completed, it will be easier to roll out the order of things to the other training programs etc to allow a better understanding throughout our player base.

Mistakes also happen. Nothing that involves humans is fail proof.

Are you trying to justify how you managed to wipe out an entire Ops command element with a single friendly grenade ?  :)

I was trying to fix numbers. 30 people signed up and 44 showed up. Somebody had to do it.

In his defense Jet was acting as 1-0, 1-1c, FAC and MFC, surprised his head didn't explode to be fair
