As that LZ still had a few enemies active in it. Even the AI weren't missing from that range.

No clue. All I know is that my engine died without warning and I started descending (probably not a lethal issue, I could easily autorotate to tree-level where my rotor would probably break and drop us the last few metres). However, almost immediately my rotor vanished and dropped us 50-odd metres to the deck ;.; Presume the rotor loss was from the ropes getting jammed through the disc...

Ropes = 20 Meters tops.

I like how when you skip through bluemax's vid to a random point past 1:10:00 the probability of you landing of benzy going "oh god/jesus!" etc is so high

Well in the video Blue was on the ground with rope to spare, but don't know if that was maybe because the helo was chasing him down? :v Altimeter readings are dodgy when over sharp terrain like that with obstructions, as it depends from which point of the vehicle it's measuring the altitude, I'd called the drop based on my eyeball of the altitude rather than a hard measurement - not by the book, I realise.
