Very nice, Goodson mate

Might as well make you an RLC photographer\BBC war correspondent Image

I think it would actually be fun to have a designated photographer on Ops some times!

I can certainly add a slot into the Patrol Ops Mission if someone wants to play the occasional BBC reporter.

I always liked that idea in general but the person would not be actually playing the operation. :C

There is a mod out there somewhere with Media kit. I think it's called Media or Press assets, with a camera and some microphones with a BBC\CNN and other news channel logo's.

Also remember there being a thread a while back to do some sort of War journo thing with 3para.

If I'm honest, and it might be just me, but I'd find it a bit immersion breaking seeing a guy run around trying to photos of us all the time (because I know they'll be going straight on our forums after the op).

Maybe if someone really wants to take photos we could add a slot that allows them to float around with the built-in Arma camera. Either way, we'll also always be one man short.

Yes, I would against somebody being visibly running around. Somebody who is (very) dedicated on making nice pictures would to have zeus access for that mission, so he could use the camera of zeus, or if he is "on the ground" can make himself invisible with ares.

That sounds like a better general concept.  Immersion breaking would be an issue if they were acting like a tourist.

But for a one-off we could have them attached to the unit.

At the very least they would be blufor so also a valid target and under the control of the SL/FTL.  Like the reporter in this series

I suppose there is a balance to be struck, personally, I would enjoy playing the role of a British Army Photographer embedded within the unit (which I suppose would lend itself well to the patrol ops as its more of a role playing things maybe). I tried to find a video I've seen before but couldn't, its of one of the British Army Photographers in Afghan, where he's in a firefight, putting down fire just like everybody else, but every once in a while stops and takes some really nice images, i'l try and find the link. Although this probably doesn't require a dedicated role in game, as Goodson's screenshots show. Its not like real life where you can only take pictures with a camera.

EDIT: Here's the link, Its a facebook one though, so not sure how well it might work for some etc. https://www.facebook.com/BritishArmyPhotographers/videos/1293660123982678/
