MeFirst is visiting the germans

I was a guest today on a open zeus mission from the "virtuelle Lehrbrigade", which is a group of 3 german units. The main reason for my visit is the fact that they will be a part of a the multi unit joint op with 15thMeu. I made a video and will edit and upload that later (tomorrow).

They are much more into roleplay and so they do fancy stuff like standing in formations and doing a 30 minute briefing. the mission itself was pretty good. They are using less contacts and it was a general ratio of 1:2 in favor of the AI and in combat it was usually 1:1 situation or in favor of us.  On the other hand they are using some a sort of medevac system and their zeus operators are definitely not forgiving, they are shooting to kill you if they remote a unit and you only have life. But it is worth mentioning that there is no insta-death and you can survive for 30 minutes while being "down".

In this mission there was also no radios, no maps and no compass for "section members". As a normal soldier you can only access a map inside vehicles. Combat itself was pretty good, but as most german units they tend to attack play more defensively.

Very nice images. Looks like some good mods there as well.

I had one, but sadly did not get to fire it. The "warhead" I had, only had a range of about 400m (like our ILAW's). There is a tandem-charged projectile in the mod, but we did not use it. Those things can be used to like 600m. Targets were out of range, or we were pinned so massively that I could not peak out. As I said before their Zeus knew no mercy and so they pretty much incapacitated a entire "Zug" (which is like 12 people) with the AAF Warrior. But it is important to remember that they play without insta-death and a fair bleed-out timer, so it was pretty fair in this case.

There is no war to end all wars.

It would be an interesting experiment to run, perhaps on a mid-week?  one life, huge bleed out, no instant death, and an overly aggressive Zeus

That'd really support having a MERT team, and different tiers of medical expertise/facility :D

His men would follow him anywhere, but only out of curiosity.

Ahhhh, the old days have returned. :)

I remember it being unpopular because guys would end up unconscious for whole missions.

Not so sure for a midweek operation, since we try to have the gameplay length about 60-90 minutes (+briefing, gearing up etc.) This does slow things down quite a bit and I would guess it would extend the length of a mission quite a bit.

I didn't check their module settings for ACE3 medical, but I in a briefing the said the following:
• AC3 Advanced Medical System
• Prevent Insta-death on
• Wound reopening on
• Anyone can bandage and apply medicine
• PAK's only be used by medics in the Puma IFV's or triage zones
• No surgical kit
• Some settings that allow you to "bleed out" for about 30 minutes (if you don't get hit further)

Video is uploading atm.
